The Cicret concept
The French startup Cicret is reportedly developing a waterproof wristband with a built in projector that can project the screen of the Android phones or iPhones screen on the forearm. The wearable isn't ready for production yet, but Cicret collects donations for it's project. Users have to connect the bracelet with an Android or iOS device and can project incoming messages, informations and media content onto the forearm. Built-in sensors should register the finger movements accurately enough to operate the system. The bracelet should get a USB port and can be connected via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. To finance the startup, Cicret wants to collect about 800,000 dollars on its website in donations. The final product will cost about 450 dollars. Visually Cicret was obviously inspired by the fitness bracelet Jawbone Up. With this concept you could read everywhere without your phone or tablet all the content that could be considered on a normal touchscreen too, whether you surf, you want to look at pictures, or are on Facebook. Whether a invstition makes sense is rather questionable. We learn very little about the people behind the project and, unlike crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo or Kickstarter the donation about 800,000 dollars goes directly to Cicret via Paypal, without to know exactly if there will ever be a real product to develope.
