Samsung Galaxy S8
After the fatal note 7-Super-GAU it was speculated about a preceded market introduction of the Galaxy S7 successor. Now again details about the hardware of the upcoming high-end smartphone appeared. Everything will be new with the Galaxy S8, especially the technology for the fingerprint sensor. According to rumors, the Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone that uses an optical recognition technology in the fingerprint sensor. This means that it's no longer necessary to integrate the sensor into the Homebutton - it would suffice to place the finger on the display to detect the imprint. This technology is not only faster than an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, but should also work more accurately. Apparently, the production quantity of the components for the optical fingerprint sensor is still small. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be presented to the public at the MWC 2017, the release is planned shortly afterwards. Until then, there are still more than three months to increase the production. The Galaxy S8 is said to have a screen that is not only curved around the side edges, like the Galaxy S7 Edge, but also the upper and lower edges. So this could be the first truly edgeless display in a smartphone and the resolution of the screen should also be in 4k. The further hardware innovations could also include a 30-MP main camera.
