Large loss of market share for Windows Phone
The Windows Phone will probably be history soon. Microsoft announced in an internal email that 1,850 people will be terminated, of which 1350 jobs were located in Finland, the only remnant of the Nokia cooperation. Moreover, it looks as if Windows effectively withdraw from the sales, development and sale of smartphones. In the future, they want to focus exclusively on corporate customers. Also, a new study shows that the Windows Phones virtually no longer exists on the market: Currently it comes to 0.7 percent market share of the smartphone market, what really is a disaster for a company with Microsoft's claims. Even the last months showed a crash of the Windows Phones. After the chip manufacturer Intel, which should provide other upcoming Lumia phones, the hope of a probably turnaround at Microsoft is rather low. Probably the biggest criticism, Microsoft has to put up with is that Windows 10 Mobile just can not get going. In early 2015, the operating system was introduced and a corresponding update shaft was announced. But now, Windows 10 Mobile still runs only on some Lumias, as the Lumia 950. Microsoft doesn't seem to want to avert the embarrassment. The 1850 dismissed employees are a clear sign that Windows has the project already abandoned internally.
